A Year In Review

2024: A Year of Growth and Success for Kemp Chartered Land and Engineering Surveyors

As 2024 ends, it’s a great time to reflect on what has been a fantastic year for Kemp Chartered Land & Engineering Surveyors. It’s been a year of challenges, achievements, and growth, with highlights ranging from completing a diverse range of projects to great staff achievements. This year has truly strengthened our reputation as a trusted name in surveying throughout the Southwest and we look forward to building on this in 2025.

Investing in Our People

Our team has not only excelled in delivering top-tier services but also in growing their skills and qualifications this year. Several team members have achieved new certifications from the likes of TSA (The Survey Association), RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) and CICES (Chartered Institution of Civil Engineers), showcasing our commitment to personal and professional development. At Kemp, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we are proud to support their journeys in the field.

A Year of Diverse Projects

One of the standout aspects of 2024 has been the sheer diversity of projects we’ve undertaken. Whether it’s providing detailed surveys for local schools or working on large-scale infrastructure, our team has been on the ground making a difference in communities across the Southwest.

Langdon Hospital

Community-Focused Work

We’ve had the privilege of contributing to projects that impact everyday lives. Some highlights include:

  • Hospitals: St Austell Hospital, we carried out gridline surveys and pad foundations to aid in vital construction work. As well as undertaking setting out for The Langdon Hospital in Dawlish and completing an up-to-date utility survey at Treliske.

  • Schools and Universities: Plymouth University benefited from our expertise in surveying its 4th-floor columns. As well as a Utility Survey at Bicton College and Helston School.

  • Town & City Centres: In Camborne a survey was taken out to connect the town to the local countryside as part of the Camborne Life Cycle Project. In Liskeard and Torquay, we performed detailed topographic surveys to support regeneration and development projects, including a shopping centre redevelopment in Torquay. As well as a utility survey in Truro Highertown with many of these works undertaken at night to minimise disruption to the public.

These projects show how our work contributes directly to the improvement of local infrastructure, education, and public spaces.

Major Infrastructure Projects

Beyond community-focused efforts, we’ve been part of multiple large-scale infrastructure developments that are shaping the region’s future.

  • The completion of the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross project, where we played a key role throughout in both surveying and setting out.

  • Our continued involvement in the Truro Northern Access Road (TNAR) combines our work in topographic, setting out, and utility surveying to ensure the successful progression of this vital project.
