Kemp Celebrates the Opening of Cornwall’s Saints Trail

At Kemp Chartered Land and Engineering Surveyors, we are proud to have played a key role in the development of the Saints Trail, a multi-use route designed to enhance sustainable travel in Cornwall. The project has created a network of paths for cyclists, walkers, and equestrian users, improving connectivity and encouraging active travel across the region.

With multiple sections funded by National Highways, Cornwall Council, and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Saints Trail is a major infrastructure project that required precise planning and execution. Our team at Kemp was commissioned to carry out topographical surveys to support the construction of the route, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in its design and implementation.

Working across the proposed route, we provided essential surveying services that informed the engineers, planners, and construction teams responsible for delivering the project. As planning and design moved onto construction our Setting Out teams assisted contractors to construct and deliver the routes. Our work helped define the landscape, identify potential challenges, and enable seamless integration of the new paths into the existing terrain.

As a Cornwall-based company, we take great pride in contributing to projects that benefit our local communities. The Saints Trail offers residents and visitors safer, more accessible routes for commuting and recreation, reducing reliance on cars and promoting a

greener future. Our survey data played a crucial role in shaping the project, supporting the precise placement of paths and ensuring the trail met all necessary design specifications.

The Saints Trail includes several key routes:

  • Perranporth to Goonhavern

  • St Agnes to West Langarth

  • West Langarth to ThreemilestoneDelivered as part of the Northern Access Road scheme (another project we’re proud to be a part of).

With the opening of the Saints Trail, we’re delighted to see another successful project come to life, one that will leave a lasting impact on the region. As a company committed to delivering high-quality surveys, we’re excited to continue supporting Cornwall’s infrastructure developments, creating a more connected and sustainable future for all.
